    Philip B. Raber OD, M.Ed, FAAO, FCOVD

    One of Dr. Raber's primary interests is helping young students overcome visual deficits to become comfortable readers.

    Dr. Raber graduated with honors from Indiana University School of Optometry and completed a hospital-based optometric residency at the Huntington VA Medical Center in Huntington, WV. Dr. Raber spent 6 years working in Haiti as a medical missionary with the Fellowship of Christian Optometrists. He has pursued post-doctoral training in learning-related vision disorders and his practice emphasizes vision care for children with special needs and patients with acquired brain injuries. Dr. Raber is married and has four children. His wife, Myriam, is a dentist and has her practice (www.RaberDental.com) in the same professional building in Kidron.

    Professional Memberships

    Staying current with new knowledge in the eye care field is a high priority for us. Each year we easily exceed our required hours of continuing education in order to bring to our patients the benefits of the latest research in eye care.

    Dr. Raber is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and the College of Optometrists in Vision Development, indicating his commitment to advanced care in binocular vision, perception and pediatric optometric care. He also maintains an active membership with the Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation Association, and the American Optometric Association’s InfantSee program, Vision Rehabilitation and Sports Vision Sections.

    Rita E. Schrock, OD

    Dr. Schrock graduated with honors from The Ohio State University College of Optometry. She practices full-scope optometry, providing primary eye exams, ocular disease management and contact lens fitting. Her professional interests also include special vision needs of children. Dr. Schrock has pursued advanced training in binocular conditions and visual information processing disorders that interfere with reading and learning. She volunteers at local schools, doing vision screenings along with educational presentations. She enjoys music and performs in piano and choir concerts. Dr. Schrock resides in Kidron with her husband, Von, and they have four adult children.

    Kristi Gerber
    Vision Therapist

    Kristi is one of our full-time vision therapists. Cornerstone benefits from her experience as a former third grade teacher, as well as the knowledge she gained from pursuing her Master's degree in Reading and Literacy Specialization. Her expertise surrounding the development of reading skills has become a vital component of our vision therapy program. She resides in Massillon with her husband and son.

    Joyce Taylor
    Vision Therapist

    Joyce Taylor has always enjoyed working with children. Her training in education, special education and administration provides background knowledge that benefits our vision therapy program. She became interested in vision therapy as she observed students at school who were in vision therapy and the changes and improvements they were making. Joyce enjoys gardening and spending time with her four children and eight grandchildren. She has a degree in education and a Master's degree in Assessment and Curriculum Development. She and her husband live in Wayne County.
